Flight Crash Companion
Rock

Flight Crash Companion began as one kid, Evan Cooney, alone in his room, adrift in a messy sea of guitars, microphones, machines and wires, forever grateful for being born into the modern world.
After years of home studio experimentation, and stints in various bands, the first EP “But Will It Sell?” was delivered under the banner of Flight Crash Companion in early 2005. The sound was primarily dark electronica with soft and ethereal vocals. While happy with the record, the sonic direction of the project left something to be desired, and the limitations of being a “bedroom band” were clear.
In early 2006, Cooney discovered certain software that allowed him to create extremely realistic drums sounds without having to use a drummer, which opened up a myriad of musical possibilities. With the barriers of a “bedroom band” finally broken down, he could finally make the kind of record he really wanted. The result was 2006’s “An Untitled Winter”, an indie rock tour de force featuring walls of guitars, huge drums, haunting melodic lyrics, and a slick overall sound usually reserved for big budget rock recordings.
